My Epiphany Bridge Story
So did you ever have that feeling that you wanted more? You know…a bigger house, nicer car, better vacations…
A few years ago I took my wife and family down to the beach for a vacation, and we had found this really nice house to stay in that was about a mile away from the beach. I remember when we got there and got checked in how excited we were. It was so cool because there was a pool, a nice deck on the back with a grill, and it was a brand new house.
The next morning we all got up and decided to drive just down the road to one of the small communities that was on the water, and as we drove into this area, there were all of these gorgeous homes with people everywhere who were renting and staying there. I thought the place we were staying was awesome, but these homes were in a different league.
Now at this point in our lives, I knew that these homes were not in our budget. They were probably 3–4 times more than what we were paying for at the other spot, and we could barely afford that. Later that day we had lunch in the little square that was part of the neighborhood and while we were walking to the restaurant we passed this real estate office with all of these for sale signs and as we looked at them…I was like…man, I want one of those. I want that house that is just off the water. I want to be able to step out and sit on the beach without having to drive down the road in a car…and I want a place that we can bring the entire family anytime we feel like it. I was going to do whatever I could to find a way to buy one of those places.
Looking back, I knew that I had to do something to get better. So for the next few years of my life I was constantly going into different programs that gave me training on leadership, sales, marketing and so much more…but after several years of that, I was still not really any closer to getting one of those houses.
So honestly, I was down. I had gone through all of these training programs and still did not have a clue how I could do something that would put me in that category. So to be honest, I sort of just fell back into my old daily routine of get up and going to work everyday.
Then, we had a family emergency that required us to hire an attorney and even though we were okay financially, we were not prepared to pay all sorts of attorney fees. It blind-sided us. Nearly wiped out our emergency savings and we were constantly trying to figure out what to juggle to keep everything up to date. Plus, at that point we had one of our daughters in college and our other daughter and son in a private school. It was brutal. And all we knew to do was to stay strong in our faith and know that somehow God was going to help us get through this. We just kept moving forward.
So fast forward about 12 months later, I was sitting in a sales meeting, and our director comes in and starts quoting something that sounds incredibly familiar to me. It was something from Russell Brunson’s book Expert Secrets. I had this book. I had read it cover to cover a few times on one of my sales trips. I loved this book and his book DotCom Secrets which I had bought right after it came out. But I had never really put any of the secrets that he teaches into action. These were both on my bookcase at home, so I went home and pulled them both down and started reading them again.
The difference this time though…I had already decided that I was going to use these books to get into that group. You see, for the last few years because of all the financial strain, we really had cut back on everything. We stayed home, didn’t go on trips and just tried to be as cautious as possible with everything that we did. But it drove me crazy knowing that we were missing those family events together. I hated not be able to do all the things that I wanted to do with my wife and kids.
So having these books come back into my line of site was like someone telling me to WAKE UP!
The answer is right here in these books. That’s when I really knew that I was going to join Click Funnels. This was the program that I had been looking for…I just missed it when it was right in front of me.
So my plan is to go through the One Funnel Away Challenge, which I am doing now. And to use the Click Funnels Affiliate Boot Camp to help guide me in building the funnels that I need to grow my business.
Honestly, I’ve been using some of the scripts already in my normal job and I am already starting to see success. I’m starting to see people respond that I couldn’t get through to before.
Now I will tell you…I have struggled with all the things that I want to talk about. You see when you are working in Click Funnels to build your funnel there are a lot of things that you need to create to get it ready to launch. And the OFA Challenge is what really has helped me work through all of that.
And now, I have a much clearer plan for my coaching, speaking and training business. You know, I am not at that pinnacle yet…but for the first time in a number of years, I feel like I have a plan…and it’s a plan that I believe in.
